Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Anything else? Message us on WhatsApp and we will reply.

What does my rate include?

Breakfast and unlimited access to the trails and attractions during your stay.

When is the best time to visit?

All year round. February to May are the driest months, but the light drizzle keeps the waterfalls flowing and the forest green in any season.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing (long pants), a waterproof jacket, a sweater for the evening and waterproof hiking boots with good traction (mud is common).

Can I fly my drone?

No. To protect the tranquility of the quetzal and other birds, drone use requires special prior permission from the management.

Is there internet access?

Yes. Our cabins have electricity, and we offer high-quality satellite internet (Starlink) in the restaurant’s common areas, so your room stays a true place to unplug.

Is the water safe to drink?

We provide purified water dispensers. We recommend bringing your own reusable bottle and not drinking directly from taps or rivers.

Are children welcome?

Yes! Families are welcome. Given how physically demanding the trails are, we recommend the visit for children older than 5. Children must always be supervised by an adult.

Are pets allowed?

No. To protect the reserve’s biodiversity, Ram Tzul does not allow pets.

Other things to know

Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited throughout the reserve. We recommend buying travel insurance.
