Our story

The dream of protecting the spirit of the mountain

What began as a family dream of protecting “the spirit of the mountain” is now a leading model of ecotourism in Guatemala.

We share the magic of the forest while supporting the sustainable development of the communities of Purulhá.

Impact and community

We don’t just admire nature: we protect it

We operate with a clear purpose: to minimize our ecological footprint and maximize our positive contribution.

Zero extraction

We strictly prohibit the removal of flora and fauna.

Water and waste

We manage our resources with full responsibility and protect our watersheds.

Local talent

We prioritize hiring and training people from Purulhá and the surrounding area.

Local producers

We boost the regional economy by working directly with producers in the area.

Frequently asked questions

Before you arrive

The essentials for planning your visit.

What does my rate include?

Breakfast and unlimited access to the trails and attractions during your stay.

When is the best time to visit?

All year round. February to May are the driest months, but the light drizzle keeps the waterfalls flowing and the forest green in any season.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing (long pants), a waterproof jacket, a sweater for the evening and waterproof hiking boots with good traction (mud is common).

Can I fly my drone?

No. To protect the tranquility of the quetzal and other birds, drone use requires special prior permission from the management.

Is there internet access?

Yes. Our cabins have electricity, and we offer high-quality satellite internet (Starlink) in the restaurant’s common areas, so your room stays a true place to unplug.
